Abstract (EN)

The purpose of this study is to determine the main determinants of outward internationalization of Turkish business groups which are the most important economic actors in Turkey. The first chapter of this study consists of the definition of internationalization, main internationalization models and approaches and new internationalization models for emerging country multinational companies. In the second chapter, the literature of business groups with their definitions, the reasons of their emergence, their history and strategies have been explained briefly. Moreover, the structure of Turkish business groups and characteristics have been explained and the determinants of their internationalization level have been determined by three theoretical approaches. The third chapter consists of research methodology with subsections as research sample, analyze method, research variables, determination of econometric model and research results. The last chapter of the study discusses the research results with previous literature and suggests theoretical and practical implications of them.
