Abstract (EN)

The purpose of this study was to determine the success levels of students who participated in PISA 2003 and PISA 2012 applications in Turkey, according to the types of questions presented in Mathematic literacy test. The research is modelled in descriptive model. First part of the study, the test questions were categorized according to the question types as multiple choice, complex multiple choice and constructed response questions.Second part, the answers of students who attended to PISA applications from Turkey were examined in detail. Ratios of correct, partially correct and wrong answers of each question were determined. The findings obtained from the analyses shows that the success of students varied according to the question types. While multiple choice question type had the highest success average in PISA 2003, it was complex multiple choice who had the highest success average in PISA 2012. Question type with the lowest success average was complex multiple choice in PISA 2003 and constructed response questionsin PISA 2012. According to the constructivist education approach effectuated in 2005-2006academic year, it is expected to observe a rise in constructed response question type; however, findings of the study reveals that the success of constructed response questions is decreased according to the application years.
