Abstract (EN)
J v ABSTRACT In this project, it is aimed to research Comenius 1 School Partnerships, to determine how much principals and the coordinator teachers of the schools applied to Comenius 1 School Partnerships in Ankara know these partnerships, to find out needs and difficulties experienced in the application process, to study model science projects of the Comenius 1-1 school projects, and to apply to model science project. Literature researches have been carried out to find but contributions that can be provided by the projects for the different fields of education. Focusing on the studies on developing school curriculum and international education programs, interactions between studies on developing school curriculum and learning approaches have been examined; connections between developing learning methods and techniques, increasing student-teacher motivation, comprehending contemporary education system and Comenius projects have been studied. Researches have been carried out on how international education projects and EU education projects can be explained better to our schools. Through researching procedures necessary for the application to Comenius 1 School Partnerships, Comenius 1 School Partnerships guide has been developed. Getting the concerned experts' opinion, a questionnaire to be applied to principals and coordinator teachers of the schools applied to Comenius 1 School Partnerships in Ankara, has been developed. As a result of the interpretation and examination of the data getting from questionnaires of the principals and coordinator teachers of the schools applied to Comenius 1 School Partnerships in Ankara according to Department of EU Education and Youth, the following results have been acquired: 1) Enough information should be given about EU decisions such as exceptions, criteria of project implementations of EU, budgeting international fund.>vi 2) Project definitions should be in a way more detailed, being rendered in periodic interventions, emphasizing on practical models and benefits that it can provide fir the different fields of education. 3) Project models from fields having different project subject, should be introduced to prepare project on the subjects like science- environment, history, economy except for social and cultural fields. 4) It is needed to benefit from people and organizations professional in their fields such as universities, research institutions, and academicians. 5) Encouragement should be provided to increase the participation of the public schools to projects. Like determined in the results of the questionnaires carried out in this thesis, and as we also think that there is a need for the project models, especially Comenius 1-1 science project models from models of project plan and implementation of several Comenius School projects applied before have submitted to help Comenius projects to be prepared in the future in our country. Furthermore in our study, an institute in Ankara has applied to science project including related many fields under science- environment subject title from Comenius 1-1 School projects.
