Abstract (EN)
Olivine is high temperature silicate mineral and has (Mg,Fe)2SiO4 formula. It is thought to be one of the most common minerals in the Solar System. Olivine is found in meteors, comets and Earth-like planets. According to Mg and Fe ratio, it is named as forsterite (Mg2SiO4) and fayalite (Fe2SiO4). Olivine from Bursa-Orhaneli is used this study. X-Ray Diffraction (XRD), Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), Inductively Coupled Plasma-Mass Spectrometer (ICP-MS) are used for structural characterization. Moreover, Thermoluminescence (TL), Radioluminescence (RL), Fourier-Transform İnfrared Spectroscopy (FT-IR), Raman Spectroscopy, Optical Absorption Analysis are carried out for optical characterization. The electrical conductivity of olivine depends on temperature measurements were performed with a four point probe method. The samples exposed to X-ray was seen about 110oC main TL peak, besides it was seen 190oC and 375oC. In the optical absorption spectra of Fe and Mg it is thought to be caused by impurities 480, 520 and 620 nm absorption bands were observed. In the literature, it has been identified in the structure rods known for olivine SEM images.
