Nterpreting the position of academic study area in Turkey: between the years 2008-2018 articles books and content analysis of the studies in the graduate thesis level

Academic translation education in Turkey has started in 1984, when the English Translation and Interpreting Department in Boğaziçi University was founded. Today, there are numerous departments under the name of translation studies or translation and interpreting, in various universities. These departments offer translation education in various languages. Education and academic studies in interpreting, accepted as a sub-field of translation studies, are also carried out by the academicians working in these departments. This study investigates the articles and scientific studies on the graduate level, namely master theses and doctoral dissertations, in the interpreting field in the last decade (2008-2018) authored by the academicians in Turkey, working in the departments of translation studies and/or translation and interpreting. The investigation of scientific studies in the context of the method of the study was carried out through the publications of translation studies academicians in Turkey. The master theses and doctoral dissertations will be accessed via the National Thesis Center of Council of Higher Education. The study employs document analysis methods from the qualitative research methods. The obtained data are analyzed by means of content analysis method. The findings will be examined in the light of literature review. The study will provide an insight to the articles, master theses and doctoral dissertations in the interpreting field in Turkey.
