Intersectional analysis of skilled labor migration from Turkey to Germany: The example of 'new wave'

This study focuses on the 1990's in the international migration flow, which has accelerated since 2010 in Turkey, has increased remarkably since 2013, and is referred to as "Turkey's loss of qualified youth" or "brain drain" by both the media and politicians. It aims to examine the migration of highly qualified professionals and the mobility of professionals, which have been of growing importance with the internationalization of education and expertise from the mid-'s and 2000s. In this direction, 33 interviews with semi-structured questions were conducted using the phenomenological pattern of qualitative research on the decision to migrate of qualified individuals who went to Germany from Turkey. In addition, since the researcher himself has experienced skilled immigration throughout the research, the study also contains auto-ethnographic elements. In this study, it is not only individual or structural reasons behind the decision to migrate; It has been tried to show that these reasons intersect in many ways. Research findings explain the reasons for qualified migration at micro, meso and macro levels and then; In the second part of the findings, he tried to show how these were transformed after migration. As a result of the research, it can be said that the political and economic crises that Turkey has been in since 2013 and their effects on people's daily lives, business lives and education, have a common feeling/feeling as a result of the common experiences of the people who decided to migrate: a feeling of unease stemming from the anxiety of insecurity and uncertainty. This feeling; interference with lifestyle, political conflicts, decreased trust in law and justice, the effects of the economic crisis, the continuous change in the education system and the loss of qualifications in the field of education, inequality, unemployment, the weight of working conditions, the lack of private/social life, perceptions of gender inequality and therefore basic security. It emerges as a Turkey-specific "unrest migration" within the migration wave called the new wave migration, which includes many intersections at the macro, micro and meso level, such as the loss of the feeling of loss.
