Comparison of usage areas of renewable energy resources in Turkey and the world

The significant increase in the demand for energy, which is the main input of the production process, and the widespread meeting of the increasing demand through fossil fuels has become one of the most discussed issues in the global arena due to the pressures it creates on the environment. While solutions such as green growth or non growth have been put forward to eliminate environmental pressure, another alternative has been to increase the share of renewable resources in energy use. Clean energy, which is produced and consumed with renewable energy sources without harming the environment, is one of the basic components of sustainable development and sustainable growth. Renewable resources available in each country; It can reduce the current account deficit arising from energy by reducing the dependence on limited and imported fossil resources, and by transferring finance to the country's own local energy resources instead of external energy resources, it not only supports growth and development by creating new employment areas, but also reduces the cost of energy production gradually. The effective use of renewable energy sources is of great importance for our country, as it is for all countries in the world. With this study, it was aimed to compare the usage areas of renewable energy sources in Turkey and in the world, in this direction, firstly, literature was searched within the scope of the subject, and then the renewable energy usage areas in our country and in the world countries were compared together with the data obtained from the studies. As a result of the study, it is seen that the highest level of renewable energy use in the world is in Africa. The lowest rate is seen in the Middle East, which is characterized as the center of fossil fuels. It is seen that China, OECD countries and Turkey are approaching the world average in their use of renewable energies. In other words, when it is considered that our country started its renewable energy activities late compared to the developed countries, it is obvious that it is behind in this area.
