Abstract (EN)

The history of humanity is also the history of technological change and transformation processes. When we look at the history of humanity from the perspective of technology, it is seen that there are two fundamentally different perspectives; technological determinism and the social construction of technology. While technological determinism points to technology as the main determinant of social changes, social constructionist theory positions the social field as the subject of change. Undoubtedly, the internet is the highest stage in which the debates about technology are embodied today. With the discovery and spread of the Internet, it became integrated into social life in a short time, and journalism took its share from this integration process. With the Internet, journalism has undergone significant changes in all its aspects, and at this point, discussions have begun on whether or not the printed newspapers will continue to exist. One of the important actors of this change process is electronic newspapers. Although e-newspapers emerged as electronic versions of printed newspapers, they are seen as a separate and special type of journalism in many parts of the world today. Confusion about e-newspapers continues in Turkey, and it is understood that e-newspapers are not given enough importance compared to other types of journalism made over the internet. In order to understand why e-newspapers remain in the background in the function of receiving news in Turkey, it is necessary to first understand whether the problem is caused by the reader or the newspapers. For this purpose, the concept of e-journalism is primarily focused on in the study. In the study, the development stages of e-journalism starting from traditional journalism were given, it was tried to determine what e-journalism was and e-newspapers operating in Turkey were mentioned. Afterwards, a survey study was conducted in order to understand the perception of e-journalism in Turkey, and as a result, it was aimed to put forward an inquiry about the future of e-journalism in Turkey.
