Sociology of education studies in Turkey

Education with its social institution identity is in a relation with sociology. The sociology of education, which is the sub-discipline of sociology, presents the findings by examining the educational interaction of society. The findings of the educational sociology are the source of understanding and explairing of social and educational problems. In this study, which includes the literatüre of the educational sociology in Turkey, the current pasıtion of the educational sociology in the field of sociology has been emphasized and making a qualitative and quantitative analysis of the studies in sociology has been aimed. In this context, the basic aspects of education and sociology concepts, the historical and theoretical development of the sociology of education, the sociology of education within the sociology identity, and the distinction of the sociology in the educational sciences in the literature have been evaluated.
