An investigationof the articles published online in the discipline of "History of education" in Turkey

The aim of this study is to analyze the patterns of the articles published on the history of education in Turkey in terms of some certain variables. This study is considered beneficial in terms of revealing the general trends of the articles in the field of history of education by carrying out a holistic evaluation of them and put forward the present accumulation in the literature. In this study which aims an evaluation of literature, data was collected by document review which is used as the data collection method and was resolved with the contend analysis technique. Articles which were obtained by scanning the database of "Google Scholar", were used as the sources of the study. "History of Education" was used as the keyword and 439 articles were found which were published between 1987-2017 in various journals in Turkey. In Microsoft Office Excel 2016 program, the percentage and frequency of the articles were reviewed by using the "article review form". As the result of the research, various evaluations about themes, publication dates, data collection tools and validity and reliability measures of the articles were obtained and these researches were subjected to be evaluated under tittles. The results acquired in this research are thought to be helpful for researchers in choosing new research subjects in the field of history of education. According to the findings and results of this research, the necessity of directing researchers to unique subjects in the field of history of education and prevention of accumulations on similar subjects are quite important. The results show that different perspectives and subjects can enrich researches of history of education and taking account of academic standards for new researches will contribute literature of history of Turkish education.
