The relationship between education and social stratification in Turkey

In this study, the relationship between education and social stratification is analyzed based on educational attainment and access to education. The study results show that the educational inequality has fallen across the country, but inter-regional achievements in education are in line with the development levels of the regions and men are in a more advantageous position than women in terms of education equality. With the qualitative analysis, it is seen that the inclusion of a larger portion of the population to the education system and an increase in the average education duration do not necessarily mean an increase in education quality per se.
