Abstract (EN)
An important part of the financial system in the wold is composed of traditional banks which rely on interest in their operations. Measuring the financial performance of the financial system and the activities of the banks is of great importance for the competitiveness of the banks. For this purpose, in this study, the performance of commercial banks for the period of 2014-2018 was compared using the ratio analysis method. By using the financial statements of the banks, comparisons have been made and interpreted through some ratios. As a result of this analysis, the growth of the banking sector, which displayed an effective performance in the cuntry's growth, was affected bye the exchange rate fluctuation in the second half of 2018.Due to high correlation between credit supply of the banking sector is Turkey and national income growth rate, particularly public sector banks is supporting the country's economy much more than the other banks.
