Performance ranking of the commercial banks which operating in turkey with multi criteria decision making methods

The measurement of the performance of the banking sector, which is one of the most important elements of the financial system, is quite a topic in the literature. Considering the economic developments in recent years, these studies have gained more importance. Nevertheless, the measurement of financial performance has been an issue of interest to everyone involved in various ways with banks. In this respect, it is necessary to analyze the financial performance of the banks which are at a very critical point in the economies. n this study the financial ratios of commercial banks operating in Turkey are used. Financial ratios include the period between 2007-2017. The performance rankings are performed by the use of Multi-Criteria Decision-Making Methods such as fuzzy TOPSIS and fuzzy Shannon Entropy. 25 of the 27 commercial banks operating in Turkey has continued its activities without interruption in the said period. Therefore, MUFG Bank Turkey A.Ş. and Robabank A.Ş. is not included in the analysis. These two banks have just started their activities compared to others. 34 financial ratios were determined by reviewing the literature for the ranking of banks' performances. These ratios are also grouped under CAMELS Ana With this method, the importance of financial ratios is established. Fuzzy TOPSIS was used to rank the financial performance of the banks within the scope of the weights.lysis. The determined financial ratios were weighted by Fuzzy Shannon Entropy.
