Exhibition sector in Turkey and exhibition company institutionalization: A company research

Around the world, business exhibitions are frequently conducted, especially in cities where there is a developed economy and where a lot of trade occurs. These cities are called Exhibition Towns in technical literature. Specialized business exhibitions in business towns not only improve the economic conditions of the city itself, but also in the surrounding areas, which in turn provides medium to long-term contributions for the country as well. The integration of the dynamics within the company into an enterprise system is of utmost importance for the survival of companies. In this sense, small and medium-sized businesses, within the company and in the environment in which they operate, are institutionalizing to professionalize, take various initiatives in this field and carry out studies in order to professionalize the organizational structure and internal processes. In the first part of the study, the topics of trade fairs and exhibitions are discussed conceptually and the historical development of trade fairs, varieties of trade fairs and the significance of trade fairs are addressed. In the second part, institutionalization and the institutionalization process will be discussed. The last part will provide a concrete overview of the implementation of the process of institutionalization. From the research results, it was concluded that there is no definite method for institutionalization. Companies wishing to institutionalize within the same sector and in different sectors may have to carry out different activities depending on their corporate structure. For this reason, it is important that companies analyze themselves well, adapt to their environment, have a flexible corporate structure, are open to change and follow this process with patience.
