Bibliometric analysis of theses written in the field of folklore in Turkey

This study aims to examine postgraduate theses written in the field of folklore in Türkiye using the bibliometric analysis method. In other words, postgraduate theses published in the National Thesis Center of the Council of Higher Education (YÖK) and involving folklore topics were evaluated through bibliometric analysis. This process was carried out using bibliometric analysis, one of the qualitative research techniques. For the sampling of the study, the purposive sampling method was employed. Using the bibliometric analysis technique, postgraduate theses in the field of folklore were examined in terms of various variables such as thesis types, access permission status, academic titles of thesis advisors, research methods used, year and university of publication, page number ranges, academic departments, and keywords specified in the theses. Through this study, it is aimed to provide significant data that will guide researchers conducting studies in the field by comprehensively analyzing the theses written in the domain of folklore. Moreover, the fact that postgraduate theses in folklore have not previously been examined systematically through bibliometric analysis further highlights the significance and originality of this research.
