Abstract (EN)

Due to globalisation economic and social prospects of individuals, companies and countries have changed and with this change transportation sector has grown in importance. In this work, Ganger Causality is studied between air way cargo transportation which is one of the sub systems of transportation and economic variables which is thought to be effective on the sector. The data of air way cargo transportation as dependent variable and economic growth as independent variable between 1960-2016 in Turkey, air way passenger transportation, export, import, number of airports, inflation, price per barrel of oil, and buying rate of exchange (USA Dollars) are used in the analysis. Regression analysis was made in ordinary least squares method and An Augmented Dickey Fuller and Philips Perron root test before the determination of causal relationship between variables. In consequence of econometric analysis, one-way granger causality has been found from economic growth to air way cargo transportation, from economic growth to air way passenger transportation and from air way passenger transportation to air way cargo transportation.
