Abstract (EN)

Value education is one of the important and prior issue in education programs today. When we consider all the studies on values education carried out in the world, it is seen that studies are carried out on the acquisition and evaluation of values. In this research, value education approaches, program structure, methods and techniques in Turkey and India were evaluated. Document Review was used as a method in the research. Document Analysis was used as the data analysis method. In the research, the programs implemented in values education in Turkey and India were analyzed within the framework of comparative education. Document Analysis, one of the qualitative data analysis methods, was used when examining the data. As a result of a historical perspective on the values education history of the two countries, the education program developed by the ministry in 2005 in Turkey and later organized in 2017-2018, and the recently published 2024-2025 Framework Curriculum in India were examined in terms of general education structure and values education practices. and it has been observed that they have similarities. While it is seen that education programs and values education contents in Turkey adopt Skill-Oriented value education approaches. In India, value education is seen as the education of senses and emotions. India defines value education as education of the heart. Among the methods and techniques applied when implementing values education in Turkey are lecturing, trip-observation, educational game, case study, drama, discussion, problem solving, collaborative learning and project-based learning. In India, similar methods such as collaborative learning and group discussion are used when teaching values. In addition to these techniques, techniques such as storytelling, service learning, peer teaching, experimental teaching, brainstorming, role playing, ınquiry-based learning and teaching with dialogues are used in India, as well.
