Abstract (EN)

The world of dictionaries consists of words and their meanings. Words contain many sub-categories such as abstract concepts, concrete names, scientific/academic terms. On the other hand, there is a definition or meaning that corresponds to each word. At this point, dictionaries have the task of having qualitative and quantitative information of any word. Dictionaries collect the words we use frequently in daily life or know the meaning and are not a part of our effective vocabulary or are interested in the meaning of the word and seek to research, classify, and try to give its meaning, origin and context. In our thesis, under the name of lexicography and along with the metalexicography, respected legal dictionaries from the universities in turkey will be scrutinized in the help of historical development, content and applications of legal lexicography. In our research, besides theoretical knowledge, the macro and micro structure of dictionaries will be examined in practice. General aspects of dictionaries, selection and definition of headings, qualifications of definitions will be tackled. Key Words: Lexicography, legal lexicography, macrostructure, microstructure.
