Current risks and ways of avoiding risk in Turkish exports: A practice on the electronics sector

In the world economy, where competition and integration are increasing rapidly, it is important to provide the highest share of exports. The main purpose of the study is to explain the risk factors encountered in export factors in Turkey, analyze them and identify possible measures. The aim of the study is to find the difference of the electronics sector from other sectors in this regard. In the study, answers to the following problems were sought. What are the risks faced by companies exporting in Turkey? What are the methods of avoiding the risks faced by companies exporting in Turkey? What are the points where the Turkish electronics sector differs from other sectors in terms of export risks and risk avoidance methods? In the study, the judicial sampling method was used as a sampling method. In the third section, answers about research problems are collected. The obtained answers were analyzed using descriptive analysis method, one of the qualitative research methods, and the findings were determined. Risk is inherent in exports, the important thing is to be able to identify and manage risks. There are political risk, supply chain risk, logistics risk, financial risk, product risk, commercial risk and operational risk in Turkish exports. The electronics sector has the same risks as export risks in other sectors. The electronics sector has more risks than many sectors in terms of input risk, the rapid change of the trend in the market, and the fact that medium-sized electronics companies do not have the desired financial power. While some risks are accepted, some risks can be transferred. The economic structure of Turkey and the policies implemented should be reviewed. Turkey should be made less risky for customers. Exporters should bring their business practices to the European standard through training and guidance. The risks are increasing every day. If immediate measures are not taken, the effect of the measures to be taken will decrease. Key words: Export, Risk, Risk Avoidance, Foreign Trade, Electronics Sector.
