Starting with this fort, the SIGNIFICANCE of DISCRIMINANT ANALYSIS,.a scinetific method in the determination of a classification by socio-economic variables on the bases of povinces of Turkey is emphasized which enables that values relating to several properties of provinces and analysis results are shown together simultaneausly. The..study has made it passible to determinate to what extent provinces previowsly classifred into three fit such classification after the analysis, together with probable values an additional benefit obtauned, hasbeun the identifications, with the help of variables derived of criteria serving as the basis of the classification.
