Turkey-Israel: Reflections of domestic political dynami̇cs on foreign politics, 1948-1999

Israel known as a state that never hesitates to hurt civils, who are not share same values, and bloddy violence pictures shown on TV by a serious number of people in Turkey. A very small mass of people can see and understand, how hard can it be to success against a crowd of people for a little community. Israel also make them believe that there can be a chance to build democracy in Middle East and at the same time that state can also have a peacefull relations with it's neighbours and with the rest of the world. For the citizens of State of Israel, Turkey is the first muslim country that recognize their independence in these areas. Turkey is also known with it's modernist and democratic regime, thus leaves a positive message on them. For the further years, whether for their own political changes or whether historical experiences force them change their point of view to Turkey. Acording to this situations, changed and new parties of each countries tries to relief their community and get support of them against the other country. This kind of domestic politics give them chance to have variable relationship between eachother. This thesis focused on what kind of events help them to have variable relationships for Israel and also for Turkey. To be able to understand the historical process of the relationship and solve the basic arguments between State of Israel and Republic of Turkey, we need to examine and describe their own dynamics, social structures, ethnical cultures, political internal dynamics and ethnical comprehensions. The aim of this thesis is to analyze to what extent the inner dynamics of the State of Israel -starting from its foundation until the era of 2000s- has affected its relations with the Republic of Turkey. In this context, it is also examined how the internal affairs of the Republic of Turkey has had an impact on its relations with the State of Israel. In this study, focus has been on the relations of these two states, which are in fact not too far regionally, have similar foundation ideologies and present parallel political affairs in the world scene for most of the time, in terms of 20-year periods by taking their internal political balances into consideration.
