Abstract (EN)
To determine the role of Turkish women we must firstly go back to the periods of Turks? entering to the history scene. This rotation begins with the Hun Empire founded in the Middle Asia, goes on to the Ottoman Empire and finally it ends at the Republic period. All of these periods, if analyzed carefully, give us the clues of women? being accepted or not in the society. The main goal of this research is to determine the effects of the seven variables thought to effect the participation wish of woman in politics on the each other. These variables include `the woman?s personality characteristics, family education, the characteristic traits of politicians, culturel structure of society and gender roles accepted by society, regulations intended for `quota politics? aiding to the participation of woman in politics in the election system, education foundations and changes in the education system and politic parties? charters?. To achieve this goal, questionnaire forms developed according to hypotheses of the research were distributed to 500 female students studying at the Celal Bayar University, the relations between factors are tried to prove by conducting statistical analyses based on the answers. The main factors affecting the participation of the women in politics are `family education and personality characteristics? and `culturel structure of society and gender roles accepted by society?. It is thought that this research will give us a broad perspective of why the individuals don?t want to deal with `political and state concerns? as well as the participation and being interested in politics or political activities set a background to develop the headstones of democracy.
