Abstract (EN)
Civil society has existed in every society from past to present. Many definitions of this concept, which has emerged since the beginning of living in the community, have been made according to different periods. Civil society as a general definition; It is a social area where volunteering is essential, capable of acting autonomously from the state, having its own supporter, and acting as an intermediary institution between individuals and the state. Civil society is the cornerstone of civil society. In society, education, health, environment, human rights, arts, sports etc. To create awareness and create awareness on issues, a common idea, a common goal, a common goal in the direction of people who came together on the basis of voluntariness formed by the association. Associations, foundations, unions, unions occur in the form of such formations. Non-governmental organizations are trying to fill the gaps where the state is inadequate and insufficient in the services provided to the society. It plays an active role not only in meeting social needs but also in the political arena by expressing its opinions on political issues. In the first part of the research, definitions related to civil society, public service and volunteering were made within the conceptual framework; The historical development of civil society which constitutes the essence of the study is examined and explained from a wide perspective. In the second part; the definition of the non-governmental organization which has become a community. The aims, functions, characteristics and types of organizations consisting of member institutions were examined. In the third part; Turkey Education Volunteers Foundation of Turkey was established to support the education services and activities are evaluated.
