The effect of acid paste resin production from red pine (Pinus brutia Ten.) and maritime pine (Pinus pinaster Ait.) on the amount of resin in the wood in Turkey

In this study, five morphological parts of the tree species (Pinus brutia Ten., Pinus pinaster Ait.) resin production and not resin production from the regions (Kefken/Kocaeli, Armutlu/Yalova, Köyceğiz/Muğla and Silifke/Mersin) were taken and as heartwood and sapwood to investigate the effect of resin production on the amount of resin in wood. 1st and 2nd year resin production was made and resin was not produced. Cross-section and tangential cross-sections were taken from trees red pine and maritime pine. The number of resin channel numbers and diameters were determined ın the receiving sections. At the same time Tarsus-Mersin samples were taken from 130 cm parts of the same altitude trees red pine and maritime pine were examined the components of wood cell wall. As a result of the study, were found the resin wounds more resinous than the not wounds. In addition, the amount of resin is found in the heartwood more than sapwood. The amount of resin in five morphological parts has already been range the stumps, 45, 130 cm, root and branch wood. There is more resin in the red pine wood than in the maritima pine. When the cell wall components were examined, it was found that the content of holocellulose was 68.69%, 72.95%, cellulose 47.54%, 49.88%, α cellulose 46.47%, 41.77%, lignin 30.46%, 27.86%, alcohol-benzene 2.32%, 10.87%, hot water solubility 3.63% , 6.36%, cold water solubility 3.78%, 5.83%, 1% NaOH solubility 14.20%, 26.42% and ash content 0.53% and 0.6%, respectively in red pine and maritima pine. As a result of the resin production, increased from resin channels and diameters.
