Abstract (EN)
The idea of socialism, whose intellectual infrastructure was based on names such as Saint Simon and Robert Owen before the French Revolution, was concretely and strongly systematized by Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels after the French Revolution. Marx and Engels produced the socialist theory with the idea that the ownership of the means of production should not be in the hands of the bourgeoisie, which is a small segment, but in the hands of the workers who actually produce and work. The method they used while producing this theory was Hegel's dialectic. They converted this method to the understanding of Historical Materialism and applied it to their own ideologies. 18th and 19th century With the industrial revolution and the understanding of colonialism that followed, the rising bourgeoisie class and a working class working for the bourgeoisie brought with it. In this direction, Marx and Engels saw the progress of history as the conflict of these two classes with each other. Ultimately, they argued that the working class would emerge victorious from this conflict. The socialist ideology had its first concrete reflection in 1833 with the action they took to improve the working conditions of the workers in England. The reflection of these actions on our country has been very limited. It is not possible to talk about a socialist organization or a similar big movement during the Ottoman Empire. Only a few groups of factory workers' strikes can be mentioned during the period between the first and second constitutional monarchies in the Ottoman Empire. Socialist movements gained momentum during the republican period. Formations such as the Communist Party of Turkey and the Aydınlık Group established in this period are examples of socialist movements. In addition, Kadro and Yön magazines, which put forward an opinion by synthesizing the socialist movement and Kemalist thought in the first years of the republic, were also influential in this period.
