Turkey?s civil and military relations between 1983 and 2007: From classic coup to E-Memorandum

In Turkey, democratic life has been very often interrupted by memorandum coups Military interference beginning with 27 May 1960 coup transformed and the classic coup in to ?post modern? interference in course of time. Turkey did not achieve healthy, stable and democratic civil-military relation. Beyond the direct and ?post-modern? interferences, TMS has always had an active role in politics.The thesis is composed of three parts. In the first part, model of military-civil relation is tried to be shown and frame of theory is written according to this model. In the second part, military- civil relation after 12 September 1980 coup and memorandum done in 28 February 1997 is tried to be explained.
