Abstract (EN)
Purpose of this work is to expose what have been the reasons and priorindications of the November 2000 and February 2001 economic crises experienced inTurkey and the precautions taken so as to eradicate those.The work is composed of three chapters. First chapter explains the objectiveand definition of economic crisis, and various sorts and indications of economiccrises. As principal basis of the policies implemented prior to the crises, first of allmain elements and targets of the `Year 2000 Program for Combating with Inflation?are investigated, and then the basic reasons of previous economic crises experiencedin Turkey are sequentially discussed in second chapter. Finally, measures taken inorder to remove the undesired influences of the crises are assessed within theframework of the `Program of Transition towards a Powerful Economy? in chapterthree.Key Words: Crisis, Economic Crisis, Crisis Indications, Inflation, Public SectorDeficits, Economic Program.
