International conventions signed by Turkey regarding terrorism, and be examination of those conventions with in the frame of basic rights

In this study terrorism, threatening human life is analyzed fromperspectives of human rights and UN agreements. Taking into account the factthat terrorism is a multi-dimensional and comprehensive issue, study does not gobeyond the conceptual framework and do not interfere into the beyond the scopediscussions. Rather, fundamental characteristics of the terrorism are evaluated.In the second section, human rights concept is analyzed. Here it isintended to explain the relationship between terrorism and human rights.Especially, providing freedom-security balance in combating with terrorism isassessed.In the third section, UN?s approach to international terrorism and humanrights is studied. In this respect, UN?s agreements on terrorism are discussedbased on primary resources and the texts of agreements.In the last section, the application of the theories analyzed in the previoussections is assessed from the perspective of Turkey?s experiences in combatingwith terrorism. As a case study, the judiciary process for Fehriye Erdal as one ofthe perpetrators of Sabancı assassination is discussed.In the conclusion section, there is an overall evaluation on the role ofinternational law in providing solutions to international terrorism.
