Abstract (EN)

Although the historical background of soft power is very old, the concept has been brought to the literature by Joseph Nye since the end of the Cold War and has become more talked about after the September 11 attacks in the USA. Public diplomacy is the activities in which the resources such as culture, which constitute the soft power of the states, try to increase their influence in other countries. Cultural diplomacy, which is a sub-branch of public diplomacy, operates in many fields such as language and education. Today, studies are also being carried out in the field of religious/belief diplomacy, which states emphasize. One of them is the Presidency of Religious Affairs, which operates offices in the field of faith diplomacy in Turkey, and the Turkish Religious Foundation, which is affiliated with it. Turkey is trying to be effective in faith diplomacy activities in order not to break its ties with the Balkan countries that gained independence at the end of the Cold War. Turkey implements an effective soft power policy in the region, especially in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
