Abstract (EN)
After the mass migration flows to Anatolia of people of Turkish descent, loyal to and close to Turkish culture, which started in the last quarter of the 18th century and continued during the Republic period, Turkey has It has begun to witness regular and irregular and individual and mass migration movements of 'foreigners' due to political and economic instabilities, political, socio-cultural, religious, ethnic pressure and violence, human rights violations, civil unrest, conflicts and wars. It is very important to develop migration management capacity in order to manage the increasing mass migration flows towards Turkey with a strategic approach and a holistic understanding, both due to the legacy of the Ottoman Empire and its geopolitical location, as it is located on the migration route. Working in this regard; By comparing the management practices of the three largest mass migration movements experienced in the history of Turkey, it aims to reveal the positive / negative and similar / differentiating aspects of these practices and their migration management capacities. Based on the findings and determinations obtained, suggestions are made to improve Turkey's mass migration management capacity. In this context, the study; It is a qualitative study that primarily describes the mass migration/asylum movements originating from Iraq, Bulgaria and Syria within the framework of migration management processes, and then compares them through their differences. In the study, multiple case approach, one of the qualitative research methods, was used. Document analysis was preferred in the data collection method, and in this context, primary sources, face-to-face in-depth interviews and on-site investigations/observations were used, and then by reviewing literature secondary sources were used.
