Abstract (EN)
The use of fosil fuels such as coal, petroleum and naturalgas, deforestation, incorrect land use, and the accumulation of greenhouse gases released into the atmosphere with industrial wastes have been increasing rapidly since the Industrial Revolution and causing environmental pollution. This increase has revealed the problem of global warming and climate change in the twenty-first century. It is known that the greenhouse gas emission that causes these problems is mostly caused by human activities and that it is also caused by sectors such as industry, agriculture, animal husbandry and energy. Many agreements and negotiations were made in the international arena regarding global warming and climate change, and a solution was sought for this problem. With the Paris Agreement, which is one of the search for solutions, it is aimed to limit the earth's temperature to 1.5 ºC. Turkey should fulfill the commitments given to this agreement to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 2030 in the reference scenario up to 21% and to reach the 2 °C target on a global scale. Within the scope of the thesis, the problem of climate change, its effects, climate change mitigation policies and strategies on international, national and local scale, etc. reviews and evaluations were made on the issues. Between 1990 and 2018, regression analysis was performed with greenhouse gas emission data released from the environmental and energy statistics of the Turkish Statistical Institute and temperature data taken from ERA5 reanalysis. The analysis in conclusion, carbondioxide (CO2), methane (CH4), nitrousoxide (N2O) and F gas increase the temperature. RCP 2.6 and RCP 4.5 scenarios representing the greenhouse gas emission probabilities determined by the IPCC were used. Global greenhouse gas emission data from Potsdam Institute between 2019-2050 and the same scenarios from Cordex and Turkey temperature data between the same years were also regression analysis. How greenhouse gases, which are our independent variables, affect the temperature of our dependent variable has been and 21. at the conference of the parties (COP21), Turkey's commitments and applicability in line with the 2015 Paris Agreement were discussed. Key Words:Climate change, Paris Agreement, renewable energy, greenhouses gases, COP21, RCP 2.6, RCP 4.5
