Turkey on the school of social services applications: School on social services project implemented in schools school of social service experience a qualitative study

This research was carried out in order to reveal how school social work projects, applied as a pilot in Turkey, are carried out. In the theoretical part of the research; the concept of school social work, the history of school social work, the professional roles and duties of school social workers, how school social work practices are implemented in different welfare regimes and the psychosocial problems faced by students are discussed. The research was carried out with qualitative research method. In the research phenomenological design was used and a research study group was formed by using snowball sampling method. Research data were obtained through interviews conducted through semi-structured interview forms. On a voluntary basis, the participants consisted of social workers who carry out school social work practices, psychological counselors and administrators. Accordingly, interviews were held with 15 participants. QSR Nvivo 10 program was used to analyze the data. Content analysis was applied to the data obtained from the interviewers. The findings of the study are collected under the headlines; the problems faced by students as the beneficiaries of school social service practices, the school social service applications carried out within the framework of the project, the difficulties encountered in school social work practices, the views of the participants on the differences between school social work practices and psychological counseling and guidance practices, and the views of the participants on school social work practices. In the last part of the study, the data obtained from the findings within the framework of the mentioned titles were discussed with the literature; The data were discussed with the literature, results and social policy recommendations were included.
