Abstract (EN)

Agriculture has been one of the main economic activities of people from past to present. World population, especially in recent years due to rapid population growth in agricultural production serious concerns about food security and safety. In the second half of the 20th century intensive agricultural in order to feed the increasing World population, it has increased the yield from the unit area. The destruction in the naturel environment with irreversible conventional farming causes irreversible damage. Reliable against this situation which clearly contradicts the principle of sustainability some measures have been taken to access food. In this context food security has become very important for many consumers. As a result of this situation the concept of organic agriculture one of the main agricultural methods compatible with the principle of sustainability has emerged. There isn't a long history of the concept of organic agriculture in Turkey. It emerged in 1980s for the increasing demand for organic agricultural products of developed countries especially EU countries. Due to the fact that the natural conditions of the country are supportive of organic agricultural production. The rapidly increasing foreign demand and the increasing demand for organic products in the domestic market. Organic agriculture has continuously developed in the country until today. This development has generally been in line with the standards of the countries where exports are made. The production, which start in the Aegean region at the beginning, has spread to other regions of the country as a result of the demands for different products. Turkey due to natural and human conditions that have indeed contains a great potential for organic agricultural production. This study applied the name to access to safe food organic agriculture in Turkey changes in the method of time and spatial scale and its developmental stage aims to explain.
