Ill SUMMARY This study is done in order to investigate the level of teaching subject about the natural disaster in the direction of teacher and students point of view. The device of measurement (questionnaire) which was used in study was done by coming into contact with the teachers of geography who were in service in Mamak and on 194 students. Who were samples in our investigations from four kinds of schools which were dependant to Ministery of directorate the city Ankara and its district Mamak. At the Statistical analyze of discoveries about the inferior problems were obtained from the device of measurement, SPSS packet programme was used. These are some result of the study; 1. The students stated the methods; lecture, questions-answer and case studies used excessively by the teacher in teaching of these subjects. The students agreed in not usage of work shop, demonstration, discussion, experiement, excursion-observation and problem solving methods, by teachers at the teaching of these subjects. But the teachers explained that they used generally; question-answer, case studies and lucture methods for teaching of these subjects. 2. While these students say that the teachers use the board, map and text book with the written materials for teaching of the subject about natural disasters, teachers say that they use tv and video with these materials for teaching of these subjects. 3. The ideas of the students about the materials and methods used in teaching of natural disasters are not significant different from according to the kinds of schools they attending. 4. While the students can't join in the lesson because the teachers don't reduce the knowledge at the level of students and the given information is not actual, teachers say that the indifferent students and the excessive amount of students in classes are reducing active contribution of students to lesson.IV 5. Both students and teachers stated that they lived most and had opportunity of research to disaster in the place of happining is earhtquake and they lived leasts and had no, or less opportunity of research to disaster in the place of happining are avalanche and mass movement. 6. Both the students and teachers say that their experiement of a natural disaster or making research of these lands are increasing their interests in learning about these subjects and they are making use of these in the lessons. 7. Both the students and teachers want the subject about natural disasters in the programme of geography of secondary education to be gathered in only on with instead of being insufficient and disorganised. As a result, we can say that the teaching of subject about natural disasters effects in our institude of secondary education is not sufficient level for the teaching of the subjects into sufficient level is depentdant to gathering the whole information about the natural disasters happened in Turkey into one unit in the programme of geography in secondary teaching.
