How can natural disasters be studied in the history textbooks of secondary education in Turkey? (a model recommendation)

The objective of this research is to investigate whether natural disasters are mentioned in the history textbooks of secondary education in Turkey or not, and also to be able to constitute opinion on how natural disasters can exist in the curriculum of secondary education.In this research, the history textbooks of secondary education in Turkey have been investigated in order to specify which data is mentioned in the textbooks of history concerning the natural disasters. Furthermore, literature investigation has been performed about the natural disasters, the qualitative data is collected one by one, analyzed, and the natural disasters which occurred in Turkey and in the world has been explained and listed gathering the data obtained.The research consists of six parts. In the first part, the situation of problem, sentence of problem, objective and importance of research, hypothesis, and limitations have been mentioned; in the second part, the referred investigations have been touched on; in the third part, the method of research has been dealt with; in the fourth part, the definitions and descriptions have been mentioned; in the fifth part, the findings and the comments have been explained; and finally in last part, the conclusion of the research has been revealed.Key Words : History textbook, Natural Disasters
