Fevzi Karakoç within the context of the development of printmaking in Turkey

In this thesis study with the title "Fevzi Karakoç Within the Context of the Development of Printmaking in Turkey", the development process of Unique printmaking art has been examined from its very beginning in the World and Turkey to the contemporary printing art and techniques. Within this context, artists' search for expressing themselves and the fact that new technical trials are being shaped up, have enriched the possibilities of artistic expression and revealed the new ways of expression.It is also real that all this development process presents time, society and culture based references in both subject integrity handled by the artist and his/her productions that are created within the context of experimentality.This reality can also be interpreted as recording cultural background and research based impressions as parts of the technical equipment used by the artist.When we examine the art and artworks of Fevzi Karakoç within the context of Unique printmaking art, it is seen that, artistic expression and technical background that underlie the thesis study, feed subjects and themes handled by Karakoç in his works and that, cultural and social background as well as the realities during this process have also affected the artist. Each of the works and the themes handled constitute a document and can transform into an artistic way of expression today. Therefore, when the contributions made by Fevzi Karakoç to the Turkish Art and printmaking are considered, it is a stubborn fact that, Karakoç also carries his artist identity also as a cultural ambassador today.In this thesis study, the contributions to the technique with the development of unique printmaking technique have been examined and a short analysis of the artwork and art of Fevzi Karakoç has been made as the result of this examination.General purpose of the thesis study is to allow that, the cultural details, which have been transferred from the past to today by building a bridge between the past and today, will also be a reference that extends to the future with the art of the artist from this point on.
