Assesment of medical drug protocols in implant surgeryof dentists working in the field of periodontology andoral maxillofacial surgery in Turkey

Dental implant surgery is one of the routine treatments performed for the treatment of various tooth deficiencies today. Implant surgeries include various treatments such as placing a single tooth implant without a flap, immediate implant placement simultaneously with bone augmentation, or implant replacement in the same region after treatment of failed implant. In this thesis, we aimed to compare the different drug protocols of periodontologists and oral and maxillofacial surgeons, who generally apply this surgical treatment in Turkey, before and after treatment. 250 doctors replied to our survey which is prepared via Google Drive. According to survey results, implant medication is mostly applied in private corporation by maxillofacial surgeons. Again, oral and maxillofacial surgeons prefer to use steroids more than periodontologists. Doctors, who working in private companies, prefer to use steroids more than others. Amoxicillin and amoxicillin + clavulonic acid combinations have been the most preferred antibiotics. Naproxen sodium (apranax), flurbiprofen (majezik), dexketoprofen (arveles), paracetamol (parol) and ibuprofen (iburamin) have been the most preferred analgesic and anti-inflammatory drugs.
