City council analysis as a reflection of postmodern public administration in Turkey

Postmodern Public Administration, which advocates the interaction of the administrative process with a market-oriented managerial logic adopted towards the end of the 20th century, has been shaped around the principles of participation and democracy at the local level. The localization steps developed in this context are; led to the adoption of the governance approach. This approach has been the basis for the formation of city councils at the local level. locally; City councils, which emerged as a reflection of the development of democracy and participatory approach, are an example of local participatory practice put forward in order to increase the awareness of citizens, to create an integrated idea against problems, and to create a common basic policy for the identified problems and needs. The content aimed to be revealed in the study; It is the analysis of city councils within the scope of post-modern public administration through the culture of local participation and democracy through the evaluation of the metropolitan cities of İzmir, Antalya, Balıkesir, Eskişehir, Şanlıurfa, Erzurum and Trabzon. The structural and functional aspects of the city councils were evaluated on the basis of regional differences within the framework of Post-Modern Public Administration principles. At the local level, this structure, which carries out activities in different structures and areas; the areas they concentrate on, the activities determined or accepted within the framework of the city profile, their external relations, etc. evaluations; analyzed over certain principles and arguments.
