Abstract (EN)

The adman who is the main subject of the advertising production process in the advertising industry, performs advertising activities within the advertising agencies. Advertising agencies operate in different structuring positions according to the services they offer and shelter employees with different roles and duties. In this study, in Turkish television series in which the adman representations presented together with the role and duty distributions in the advertising agencies; are sampled, watched and findings are evaluated in the theoretical frame. Television has been an important tool of mass communication, in the production and being known of the social representations. And through television series, the actual understanding of representation understanding of the profession groups in the audience can be strengthened or a new understanding can be created. In this study, the advertising agencies' employees in the television series are evaluated according to how adman is represented on the basis of demographics (age, gender, physical and personal characteristics, educational level), socio-economics (family form, lifestyle, working hour and salary, clothing style) and practices of advertising acencies (distribution of roles and duties, presentation of place, the structure of the agency and the name of the agency) within the framework of 'Social Identity and Social Representation Theory'. The admen in Turkish television series; who are young, single, graduate, with a high knowledge of a foreign language and working at an advertising agency in İstanbul, are represented.
