Transformation of health care services in Turkey: An analysis on low-income groups in Eskişehir

The purpose of this study is to reveal the low-income citizens' perception on the transformation of public characteristics of healthcare services. Quantitative research methodology has been employed in the study. A survey composed in accordance with the aim of the study was conducted on the selected participants via face-to-face interviews. The survey was composed of three main parts and 57 questions. In total 400 survey were conducted and 13 of them found to be invalid. Thus the evaluations were made based on the 387 valid surveys. Research findings revealed that most of the participants found the transformations in healthcare services positive. 62% of the participants found the transformation good, whereas 30% of them were found it to be very good. Only small percentage (2.7%) of the participant perceived the transformation of the healthcare services negative. Consequently, the results of the study indicated that the applications introduced with the Health Transformation Program eliminated the lengthy experienced problems in healthcare services provisions, provided healthcare services for the citizens who do not benefit much from the healthcare services due to their low income level, abolished the unequal treatments and provided healthcare services for all the citizens.
