Health expenditures and health in Turkey: Sakarya example

Health is just a right for a human being coming from his/her birth. In order to make a rationale for health, healthiness and whatsoever, one has to pay attention on not only economic aspects but also humanity. However, economic solutions to health problems come to forth to make a reasonable explanation for a determination of the origins of reasons and a general solution concept of eradicating the problems. This thesis has three main parts. The first part gives general information about health, healthiness, health services, kinds of services, economic evaluation, efficiency on sides of human, community and unity of health services as providers of services, and in the final chapter of the first part, financing the health sector. The second part is stressed on healthy status in World and Turkey. This part appends some statistical comparisons to understand and to make a point of where the countries of World and Turkey stand on the grounds of health. Further of the second part, financial position of health sector and financing the health sector are tried to introduce with some problems keeping on seen especially in Turkey. A rationale is strived to present for probable solutions on troubles being seen in Turkey with the help of both Turkey's problems and the rest of World's countries. The third part of the thesis aims to recognize the health problems of the city and province of Sakarya. While doing this, the results of Turkey's health status give the most convenient information to make a good interpretation. In order to make a comparison and to make a point about all kind of losses causing by health problems, health level of Sakarya and Turkey are compared with several respects. Some of these are economic welfare, unemployment rate, the share of Sakarya from national income, conditions of all health services in Sakarya etc. respectively.
