The relationship between regulations for health tourism in Turkey and the economic and financial structure

The concept of health tourism renews itself as a sector that is constantly evolving, renewing itself and incorporating new concepts with the development of technology. At the same time, the concept of health tourism is seen as a public goods. Countries that want to have a large share in health tourism are working to develop the sector. Countries compete and carry out comparative analyzes for the development of health tourism. Turkey offers four-season tourism services due to its strategic location. This is a great opportunity for the development of health tourism. Incentives applied for the development of health tourism and policies that ensure the development of health tourism in legal terms are discussed both in terms of world health tourism and Turkey's health tourism. Health insurance, incentives, transportation and quality service are becoming attractive for health tourism. With Law No. 6322, institutions and organizations providing health tourism services are supported by the Health Transformation Programme. According to the data obtained from TurkStat, an economic analysis of health tourism is made based on the years 2015-2021. The ratio of the number of incoming tourists to the population of Turkey, the percentage, the ratio according to the type, of expenditure, the ratio of the general government to the total taxes are examined by macro analysis. Data on health tourism are analysed using econometric methods and unit root tests.Public spending by governments on health creates new areas of employment. This creates a multiplier effect in the economy and increases economic growth. The increase in the number of health tourists coming to the country increases the income from health tourism and consequently increases the inflow of foreign Exchange into the countr.
