Kürdish people as an object of self orientalism in Turkey

Orientalism, as a scientific discipline, has internalized by the efforts of the third world countries. Here, This internalization originates the self orientalism. In other words the notion, which renders the orientalism on a hegemonical position, is the notion called self orientalism. Orientalism has come through a semantic shift in the later modern societies and consequently It is essential to estimate an orientalism understanding in Whatsoever society as pre-modernization and post-modernization in two differing process.The Eurocentric power has become strong in the course of the transition from orientalism to self orientalism by the efforts of local elites or leaders. When the Eastern societies examined, this transition is to see in next to all societies. In this direction, the self orientalism can be seen generally in the Ottoman society and esoterically in the Türkish society along with the Republic.The self orientalist strategy, which starts on the Ottoman elite's hand and which goes on the Republic elite's hand, has created many other in the nation states. Nevertheless the self orientalism sense, in the societies those do not feel their own identities in the nation states, has revived. In this context, It is point out that; In the Turkish nation state, PKK organisation and the political-social settlements based on Kürdish ethnicity, have revealled a new self orientalist paradigm.In this study, (in the first chapter) firtly the self orientalism notion is theorized by analysing the others in all of the Eastern societies, and then (in the second chapter) on the center line of the notion called cultural contact zones, the subject, the object and the other perception generated with the Ottoman Empire and Republic, has examined.Keywords: Orientalism, Self Orientalism,
