Abstract (EN)
Sideritis L. (Labiatae=Lamiaceae) is a genus especially in Mediterranean regionof Turkey, represented with 54 species and infraspecific taxa. The species thatbelong to this genus is mostly known as ?Dağ çayı? and widely used as herbaltea or folk medicine in Turkey. As a result of so many research, some species ofare found to have antipyretic, antioxidative, antimicrobial,Sideritisantiinflammatory, antiulcer, anticataract features. The taxonomy of Sideritis L.genus is very diffucult. Some molecular and biochemical markers are usedwidely beyond morphological features in taxonomic studies. In this study,genetic distance between the 74 population that belong to 54 taxa of TurkishSideritis L. (Lamiaceae) were determined by SDS-PAGE method. Stachysworonowii (Schischkin ex Grossh.) R. Mill species which is thought to be veryclose to Sideritis L. genus is also included in the research. Dendrogram based onNei's genetic distance method UPGMA was used to compare the species. Theresults of cluster analysis were in broad agreement with morphologicalclassifications of these species.
