Abstract (EN)
Although the predictions on which almost all classical social thinkers at the beginning of the 19th and early 20th centuries anticipated that religion would either weaken or disappear with modern constructions concluded with the secularization thesis and this was supported with statistical data, the statue of religion that has not disappeare anywhere but changed everywhere, has intensified the debates on itself. Whether religion has lost its social significance in the face of modernity and if it has lost it, the extent to which it has lost depends largely on what it means by religion and secularization. However, since neither a religious definition nor a general consensus on the meaning of secularization is in question, the answer to what is the criteria for defining communities as secular becomes different. Modernization / secularization in the West represents a very radical transformation within Christianity into a different social structure and intellectual world. As Christianity that was cut off from its original source and transformed into human form, has been adapted to the the lifestyle of the western man, its resistance to secularization has resulted in failure. Since more than a century ago, there has been a process of change, though different from the way the Western world lived several centuries ago, in Islamic societies and in our country. İt is not accidental that İslam is the only religion that is the only and exceptional civilization, responds fully and effectively to the thesis of secularization the among the fundemental civilizations of the world and has remained far away from distortion. However, the impossibility of secularization of Islam with its this feature does not eliminate the view that the martensis reflects internal secularization in the form of a formal life style deprived of esence not based on religious teachings in the historical process. We will discuss n the focus of secularization multi-dimensional change process, carries the points of refraction and continuity. Religious is eternal. But this does not mean that it maintains its authority as a social and individual ideal in every period. The validity of religion is that the principles of religion are valid. the validity of principles of religion can be considered according to secularization. We will try to put forward in this study; "Does the process of social change initiated as a modernization process by the Republican era correspond to the secularization process?" What kind of differences does the process cause in-non-Western societies, initiated and maintained in the mode of Western civilization, apart from the societal change dynamics of their own, in the authenticity of their historical and cultural qualities? In the first part of this thesis studying the religious transformation process in Turkey in the Republican era, under Change and "Social Change" subtitle will be discussed and the impact of this new meaning on secularization focusing on the the change of its meaning with modernity Exchange will be determined. In the second part, the theories of secularization will be introduced by depending on the theoretical background of the secular concept. In the third section, we will discuss multi-dimensional change process in the Republican period in the third period: (1923-1950) Coercive secularization, (1950-1980) from Coercive secularization to Diffused secularization; (1980- 2018) Diffused secularization or Areligious sacularization, These three processes will be analyzed in the subheadings of family, old age, youth, city, education, community and sect, politics, religion, fashion and holiday as consumption, religiosity as the main parameters of every mentality, human, time and space elements. Social indicators of religious change in process of modernization in Turkey will be shown.
