Macro planning offer on sustainable tourism in Turkey

Key words: Sustainable tourism, Sustainale development, Tourism, Tourist, Tourism planning, Turkish Development Plans.This study, with the help of Brutland report published in 1987 and called as "Our common future" where sustainable tourism development concept is developed with sustainable tourism concept aims to offer macro planning model on tourism sector which is a great resource in terms of developing countries such as Turkey, The study consists of five chapters, getting rid of the negative environmental effects of the tourism, and focusing on sustainable tourism concept and aiming to reach the future with the minimum loss of environmental values. In the first chapter, tourism and tourist concepts and relations of tourism-environment have been mentioned. In the second chapter, existence of sustainable development concept and sustainable tourism concept have been examined. In the third chapter, after general planning concept is clarified, tourism planing and tourism planning applications are explained. In the fourth chapter, views of public institutions on sustainable tourism concept that form tourism planning in Turkey and their studies on this subject are mentioned. In the fifth and last chapter, planning model offer on sustainable tourism in Turkey has been taken part in. While preparing this study, national and international studies work examined, literature surveys were used to prepare Turkish Development Plans and to form qualifications of the model. This study has been supported with the knowledge which has been gained after the literature survey; besides interviews with tourism experts in State Planning Organization and Ministry of Tourism who direct the Turkish development Plans.
