Abstract (EN)
A hopeful emigration from the civil wars experienced since the countries of the 2011 Arab Spring, and a new life that will leave their globally and generally economically high homeland Turkey is a country that accepts Turkey in the largest number of countries. Having to solve hundreds of immigration-related problems in our country, which hosts more than 3,5 million immigrants according to official figures, the authorities have had to manage and analyze separately the women and children who are the most vulnerable groups in every crisis and thus the most affected. Although the inhumane conditions that asylum-seeking children are exposed to during the migration process are known by the whole world, the inability to adequately intervene in these problems causes permanent scars on children that are difficult to compensate. The data forming the basis of the research were collected from 150 Syrian children living as asylum seekers in Kırşehir Province in 2021, and the sociocultural adaptation levels of the children were examined in this study. In the research, questions were asked about interpersonal communication, academic/work performance, personal interests and social participation, ecological adaptation, and language proficiency. The results of the analysis are aimed to contribute to the social policies to be developed for Syrian refugee children in Kırşehir and ultimately in Turkey. The results obtained briefly indicated that the social cohesion level of Syrian refugee children living in Kırşehir is high. It was seen in the analysis of the answers given that the children did not have any problems in adapting to different lifestyles and participating in activities. In the correlational evaluation, it was observed that there was a negative incompatibility between language proficiency, ecological harmony and personal relationship. This has revealed that language learning is an important criterion in ensuring social cohesion. . In the light of all these data, the study was concluded with alternative solutions to the social policies to be developed for Syrian refugee children.
