Özet (EN)
In this study Talpa levantis, Talpa europaea, Talpa caucasica and Talpa davidiana which were distributed in Turkey were utilized. G- and C- banding patterns and karyotypic results of a total of 60 specimens (27 male, 33 female) across 14 localities were analyzed. According to karyotype results, chromosome number of Talpa davidiana determined as 2n = 34; NF=66, and G- and C- banding results were discussed with the literature for the first time. The pattern of G- and C- banding of each species were compared and differences among species were shown. G- and C- banding of four Talpa species were compared and rearrangements among species were shown. The banding results were used to construct phlyogenetic tree. According to the constructed phlyogenetic tree, all species including outgroup, T. romana were divided into four groups. T. levantis were determined as an ancestral Talpa species in Turkey. However to understand the full mechanism of speciation of Talpa distributed in the world, we need more data as discussed in literature. It was determined Robertsonian fusion and deletion mechanisms of chromosomal rearrangements which were effective chromosomal evolution of Talpa in Turkey. These results suggested that 2n = 34 was ancestral form. The chromosome number of 2n = 34 and 2n =38 of Talpa were determined in this study and similar banding patterns showed that chromosomal rearrangements didn't have a powerful evolutionary role on speciation of genus Talpa. Therefore it was determined that speciation of Talpa was allopatric and the possible scenarios for speciation of Talpa genus during time were discussed in the light of current literature.
