Özet (EN)

This study aimed to analyze the foreign trade of the Turkish agricultural sector in the period 2000-2021 and to reveal the export performances of selected agricultural products. In the analysis of agricultural foreign trade data, comparisons were made using the Harmonized System (HS), International Standard Trade Classification (SITC), and International Standard Industry Classifications (ISIC). The study also aims to analyze the competitiveness of selected agricultural products by using Export Market Share (EMS), Revealed Comparative Advantage (RCA) index, Import Penetration Rate, Concentration Coefficient, Openness to Foreign Competition, Import/Export indices. The research analyzed the competitiveness of Turkey's foreign trade of citrus, raisins, shelled hazelnuts, and olive oil. According to the analysis, it has been determined that Turkey has a substantial market share in the exports of dried figs, raisins and shelled hazelnuts, while the market share of tangerine and grapefruit exports has increased, but it has lost its market share and comparative advantage in the exports of oranges, lemons and olive oil. High input costs, poor financing, and marketing issues are all detrimental to competitiveness. Stable development will be aided by the elimination of these detrimental elements in order to boost and enhance competitiveness. To expand the export of agricultural products, Turkey should seek out new markets and engage in promotional activities.
