Analysis of theather posters designed in Turkey in terms of design principles

This research have been made on the assumption that whatever the techniques and methods used in artistic creation, the creative genius of the artist and the basic design principles must be based on their integration. The purpose of this research is to observe the historical process in the world and in our country, to examine the interaction of plastic arts with technological developments through document analysis which is a qualitative data collection method, during the period from the introduction of digital technology to our lives until these days, to examine its effects on plastic arts, traditional, mechanical reproduction and Turkish Theater poster design applications prepared in digital environment periodically and to reveal its contributions in accordance with the evalution and interpretation of basic design principles. This research consists of four chapters. By introducing the research in the presented problem, limitations about the subject, the purpose and the importance of the research have been stated. In the first chapter, the method used in the research has been given. In the second chapter, the conceptual framework of the research and the interaction of the created plastic arts with technology have been examined periodically, the definition of graphic arts and poster has been made, by examining the historical development in the world and in Turkey; types of poster, institutional foundations and literature review related to techniques applied in poster design and basic design principles have been made and supported with visuals. In the third chapter, by determining limitations, examples of Turkish theatrical posters have been discussed periodically (traditional method, mechanical reproduction ve digital method), in the analysis of the posters, the analysis format developed by the researcher based on three expert opinions has been used. The works have been examined according to this format and the findings and interpretations obtained in the research have been expressed.
